Newly hatched red damselfly drying out.

Dragonfly, taken at the pond in East wood, Broughton.

Hoverfly on Buddleja.

My dad says that hoverflies should really be tiny UFOs. This one looks like it has goggles on.

Ladybird and wolf spider sitting together on a nettle leaf. I saw several other pairs that day, all sitting very still, but just touching. They seemed to be sunbathing.

Winter quarters.

Ladybird resting in a mallow seed case.

Mating ladybirds.

Painted lady on Buddleja.

2003 saw masses of these ladybirds in the UK.

Peacock butterfly on nettles.

This peacock seems unusually bright against the green of the nettles.
