Peacock on Buddleja.

Red admiral on Rudbeckia

Tachina fera.

There were dozens of these odd flies in the late summer of 2004. They were very attracted to the oregano flowers.

Autumn is always spider season for me. They seem to be everywhere. This is a nice fat specimen of Araneus diadematus.

Walking along a country road in Oxfordshire, the  verges were full of flowers. These Burnet moths were very attracted to the wild Knapweed growing  there.

I found this caterpillar on the Buddleja and had no idea what it was to start with. It looks quite exotic, but isn't.

Dot moth caterpillar.

This Giant Atlas moth was over 15cm across.

A magnificent specimen living in a hot house at Kew Gardens.
