Because of people who have been directly linking to the images (rather than downloading them), we have had to remove the larger images and replace them with zip files. Click on the link beneath the picture, download the zipped image, unzip the picture and then use it for your desktop.
Save the zip file to your computer. We have scanned the files before uploading them, but do not open zip files without scanning them first using your security software.
See info on changing desktop background.
If you are using Firefox as your browser and the large image is distorted, make sure you are viewing the picture at 100% magnification - when you open the pictures with Firefox, and move the cursor over a pic, then you will see a magnifying glass; clicking will either zoom out or zoom in.
Please do not link directly to the images without permission - save the desktop pictures to your computer and use them from there.

We have checked our files for viruses - but ALWAYS remember to scan files regardless of what anyone says.
First find out what size your screen is. You need to do this so that you know which wallpaper size is the best for your computer. You can find out what size is by following these steps:
|
Find the screen resolution |
|
|
Unless you have a large monitor, it will probably be set to: 1024x768, or 800x600.
|
There is more than one way to set a picture as your desktop picture - it depends on how your machine is set up. Also, your machine may or may not want a particular type of file, for example name.bmp or name.jpg
The higher the numbers, the bigger the file size, so it may take a while for the image to open/download.
Once you know your screen resolution, click on the appropriate image link to open the picture in your browser - note that a large file size may cause a delay.
When the picture has opened you can make the image your desktop wallpaper by right clicking it and selecting ‘Use image as’ | ‘Desktop background’.
If that doesn't work, try the following after the image has opened in your browser:
Right click on it and choose the option to ‘Save Picture As’.
Save the image in an place you can find easily, such as My Documents, so you can find it later.
Go to the main desktop (where the wallpaper is displayed when you have no windows open).
Right click in a blank area of the desktop and select ‘Properties’.
Select the ‘Desktop’ tab and then click on ‘Browse’ to find where you stored the calendar (for example, in the My documents folder)
Once you have found the image name, double click on it, and then click ‘Apply’. The picture should now show. To ‘set’ this click on ‘OK’.
Find out how big your screen is:
Click on the Apple menu, then select 'Control Panels > Monitors & Sound'. A window will appear telling you the resolution of your screen.
Get the image:
Ctrl-click on the correct sized desktop-picture link above.
Choose the option 'download link to disk' and save it to a place you will remember.
Open the Appearance control panel (Desktop pictures) and select the Desktop tab (picture tab).
Drag the image on top of the control panel and click the Set Desktop button.
Click outside of pop-up to return.
