Unless money is no object or you are just looking to spend £10 for fun and don't really care what you get, then it is worth giving a little thought to choosing your garden software.
There are various tools available, and prices range from under £10 to several thousands of pounds.
Possibilities include garden design software, garden visualisation software, CAD (Computer Aided Design) software, garden maintenance program, garden journal, plant encyclopedia, plant finder or whatever other term the designers or developers have come-up with to be most descriptive and make their product sound attractive.
Alternatively, for basic design work, you could choose a vector graphics program that would suit 2D aerial planting plans, however, it is likely that you would need to compliment this with other resources like a plant finder or plant encyclopedia. For RHS members, there is the RHS plant database.
